Has anyone used one of these "suitcase dynos". I might have a chance to purchase one reasonably. Can they handle boosted hp?

Well if you say it's ok that is good enough for me Dave. I don't think I am going to push it past the 350 mark. Well at least not this year. ;)

I looked at a Land and Sea dyno when we were ready to purchase a dyno.I think that they are all right till about 350hp

you are right!

up to 350hp, we dynoed my turbo apex mtn on that type of dyno, and after 345hp (SAE corrected), we did not felt too confident about the dyno... so we stopped right there.

210-220 ftp on the clutch is about all it can handle.

i had 358hp on mine and it overshoot the peek torque on that pull.

While the Dynamite is a nice small package I wouldn't subject it to any fast rising torque curves from turbo or Nitrous applications, these units are known for having the center break out if them during hard use.

Anything over 250hp is a stretch on these units, and as well water feed rate is VERY important as well.

This is just my 2 cents, having known people who have grenaded these units with less power then that.

You are true!!!

Water feed is key... as well as water exit to retain some pressure inside the guy that dynoed mine here had to almost block off the water exit port to be able to 'brake' my engine at anything past 290hp... on first try he was hitting the revlimiter and could not do anything.

also... so to be noted... past 320hp, the water exited in steam rather than water :-o
