Larger windshield on Vectors

Did anyone install a larger windshield on their Vectors. I am looking for some pictures of them installed from the front & rear view of the sled. I would like to see how the extra support bars that mount to the windshield look. I would like to remove the stock one & install the next larger size. This would only be on the body style from 08 & up.l

here's mine,there are no support bars with the next size up,only the extra tall

When I went to the dealer to buy this windshield it came with 2 support bars.
This windshield was the tall one, next size up from the stock one.
Part No. SMA-8FA96-30-BK Tall (151/2'') I did not buy it yet because of the
2 support bars. Is this the same size one that you have. I know your's is a
different color but the size is what matters to me.

I have the "tall" windshield on mine, I bought it as a second and did NOT come with the support bars but DOES have the holes for the supports. I have not had any trouble with the windshield folding back while riding. From my experience, you do NOT need the supports.

that part # is for the older model vectors 05 to 07,if you want 1 like mine but in clear with black,its 16'' and part # is SMA-8FT96-21-BK,there are no support bars with this 1,

Make sure you buy a yamaha one not a cobra windshield. i made the mistake of buying a cobra this year and it sucked. it didn't cover the handle bars very good. I will be buying a new tall yamaha windshield for this year coming up.

I just bought a designer series and it is larger but not obnoxious. I have the same height on my Attak and worked for me so I got the wife this one. The stock was smaller as was my Attak when new. The over the counter one I got for the Attak was the Med. height. It is the same as Yami's Designer/Fire and Ice at 22 1/4 in.

Pat the Rat. Thanks for the information on the windshields. I checked Yamaha's accessories book & they show the No. that you gave me
(SMA-8FT96-21-BK) is only14.25'' high. The 16'' windshield is No.
SMA-8FT96-30-BK which is a Black Fade one. IF the book has the wrong No.
or your No. was wrong please let me know.

that,s weird,that part# shows it to be 19'' in my book,i wonder maybe the canadian catalogue is different from the u.s,also it comes with support bars

I had the tallest windshield installed on my new 2011 Vector GT I purchased at the end of January. It did have the 2 support bars installed when I picked it up. I broke them both driving it into my enclosed trailer (slightly too tall).

After the support bars broke off it cleared but is close fit. And I have drove it as fast as it goes on the lake and no problems with the windshield without the support bars. I love the windshield but the kids won't because it doesn't look as cool as the small bikini ones.
