LB this past week I've applied your suspension tip's for the RX1 to my 03,man what a diffrence from the stock setting's,very smooth and plush the rebound need's some work on the big stuff but overall WOW!.Weight transfer is second to none awesome setup, smoked several guy's this weekend right from the holeshot and beyond, even a friend on a Zrt 800 that got thrashed several times admitted that he need's a new sled.Even raced a whole pack of guy's SXR'S,SRX'S,POL 800'S,SKI DOO 700,800 SMOKED THEM ALL lined up again but I think they seen enough, either that or they couldn't believe they just got whooped by the RX1ton.Once again thank's to LAZY BASTARD for his knowledge and kind heart making this invaluable tuning tip available to all. Stock RX1 just an awesome tip from LB!

I'm really glad to help, but I am honestly astounded that it would help your hookup... I came up with the setup to benefit the ride.

Hey, I see you're in Toronto, where do you ride? Maybe we should setup an Ontario ride.

LB the weight transfer on this sled is awesome from what I had previous which was all stock setting's regardless wether you're coming out of the hole or already doing 80km the thing transfer's and settle's in real nice.I usually ride in the Haliburton,Bancroft and Ottawa Valley area, the odd time I get up too Sault Saint Marie,I would love to set up some sort of Ontario ride but unfortunately I'am pretty much booked with work.Definately something to organize for next year prehap's?.

LB how are your transfer rods set I have a thick plastic washer compared to my friends RX-1 of the same year he has a thin plastic washer and his rods can move more.

The thick washer is stock. Split it in half with a hacksaw and your ride will become slightly more smooth, BUT, be aware that your skis will dig harder when you let off the throttle.

My hook up is horrible what would you suggest for a trail rider my skis dont com off the ground no matter what conditions are I would like to get more bit on accel I know I need to replace the track with a ripsaw but is there something I can do to help it?

In loose conditions, there is NOTHING you can do to get real good hookup with that track. You've gotta wait until you have crunchy snow.
There is ONE good thing about not having the hookup.... with a better track, you get SO MUCH hookup that its hard to power out of a corner - it just wants to lift and push. I've got the 144 ripsaw now, and ski pressure is very consistent on the trails. On the lake with lots of juice, it'll lift just nicely. I would imagine that it would be really wild without the skid relocation.

LB I believe the only difference is that on the center(big)shock I went to the min setting on the spring.Once again Thank You very much!.Considering that I still use the stock track it hook's up real nice with all the added transfer.

Yeah, thats where I've got mine set at. For the really big guys, it needs more preload.

LB,
Thanks for the setup tips on the RX1. I set my '03 RX1 up the way you suggested-it truly rides like a "couch". There is absolutely NO ski lift, but, I'm using Viper Ski's (shallow keel), with longer links, and 11 mm sway bar. Track is a 9940 (pre-punched 9837, but no studs yet). Absolutely FABULOUS!!!
Liked it so much, I tried the same setup on my Warrior-BIG MISTAKE!!! It rode like I had NO suspension. I ended up changing it back to what it was before. I would compare it to riding one of those bucking bulls that people ride in a bar, it totally sucked. I do remember you saying that you weren't sure about the Warrior. I tried it, and, you were absolutely right.
Best setup I've found so far on the Warrior (175#, with gear)
Front shocks-two threads more preload from setup
Limiter Straps-Tighten them 6 mm (quarter inch-pull the skid up)
Front Skid Spring-Fully Loose
FRA-Full Soft (Top Position)
Rear Spring/Shock-Position 3 (1 softer than setup)
Transfer Rods-At setup
I probably needed the extra preload on the ski springs, due to the shallow keel on the Viper ski's. It fixed my push problem. Next time out, I'll put the original ski's on, and loosen the preload, and see what happens.
Thanks again LB-Great setup advise.

What are you doing with the clicker on that Warrior? Probably if you had set the clicker loose, my setup would have worked better than it did. With the clicker hard, your setup should be superior. Warrior does have a better shock.

Sorry, forgot to add that.
Clicker was set to 7 from full "Firm" with your setup for RX1.
I set it back to 10 from full "Firm", so I could finish my ride for the day, along with FRA and rear spring adjustments. Forgot to add that adjustment to my post. Thx for asking
Do you think that maybe I didn't have the clicker set firm enough?

My setup takes into mind a shock that is too soft. Its really a compromise, and would be much better at low FRA with a much harder shock.
