Well as luck would have it I dropped one of the alluminum windshield screws down past the motor. So I decided to take the airbox out without removing the headlight assembly( I was not aware of the proper procedure at the time). So after I broke the three small tabs for the lid under the headlight I removed the headlight and all was good (One might want to get a set of long shaft allen keys or allen sockets for the screws on the intake manifolds). So now I still have to find the screw. I decided that while Im down there I would remove the lower side panel (under the disk brake). Well let me tell you those screws were a bitch. The factory torqued those weak phillips head screws very tight. Well two finally backed out while the other two were drilled out. You might want to try these at home, Im going to replace mine with S/S hex bolts. So after all this no windshield screw anywhere. A little compressed air blown around and out she popped from under the hood by the battery. Which reminds me, It looks like the battery tray will have to be removed for oil filter access. Is this so? Well good luck.

Never heard of a Pozidrive before. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the info! 8)
What's a Pozidrive? Anyway, I had to use an impact driver to get the screws out on my '03 RX1. Be sure and use blue Loctite on the screws when you put them back in. I didn't and two vibrated out.

Im glad I can spread a little joy around. But thats what makes this site so great. Learning from others experiences, both bad and good. 
I also decided to go with S/S allen bolts instead of hex heads. I think those will work the best.

Its between a #2 and a #3 philips. You can make one out of a #2 by grinding the tip flat like a #3, then it will fit perfectly.
I broke those 3 tabs the first day I had mine home! You don't see them until it's too late and they are already broken.

Screws
When I removed the same screws mentioned above-yes, damn tight, needed a screw extractor for 2 of them-I was thinking of swapping them out with an allen-head type bolt but the oem screws have a shoulder on them for the plastic panel.
When you replaced the screws, are you using any certain type of fastener(and a washer)?

How do you like those clip nuts? I hunted an hour for two of them before I found them. Ended up putting a little duct tape on them to hold in place. FOund out the hard way if you drop anything into the motor compartment it"s gone or a major job retrive the parts.
