I'm considering installing LED Tail Lamps on the '06 RsVenture. Any negatives? Any recommendations on where to buy? Thanks.

I am not sold on the Yammy LED Light from the apex. After a few miles it covers in snow and you can barely see it. It doesn't get hot enough to melt the snow either.

I don't know much about the LED tailights, but I don't think I've ever seen a 'standard' tailight get hot enough to keep any real amount of snow off it.... Unelsss, of course, you're talking about my buddy's Doo that went up in flames? :moon:

If you are looking to increase safety so that people behind can see you, the site member Bluedog uses a small light attached to his helmet with Velcro. It works extremely well. He bought the light at Wal-Mart and it has a flashing red or bright white output.

Yeah, that light on his helmet is bright.. I was perhaps sled #7 in line, and could barely see the tail lights from the sled in front of me 50 yrds away, but I could see that little light on BlueDog's helmet a half mile ahead... Gotta get me one of those...

I use to have a 12" LED bar on my vipers, but they're gone now.. I May put one of them on my ATTAK but not sure just yet... They were on and also had brake light feature.

I put the radiantz ones on my bike and they blow the regular 1156 & 1157 away on brightness. Not all led are the same so beware. These I can honestly say you pay more but they are bright.

This is a real problem as LED's don't produce any HEAT. :o| They ice up and it's a BEAR trying to clear them off. The pre-LED taillights were much easier to keep cleared off.

Yamaha needs to produce an optional "heated taillight lens cover" for the new sleds like they used to for older models. Someone is gonna get rear-ended & hurt bad and Yamaha's gonna be paying in court...
