Indy said:Cubby and Welt. I tried to take apart my lens after reading this post. Well the clear lens part is glued to the black base, I could not get them apart w/o breaking. So I went in through the hole and pryed loose the red half egg looking lens, then I reached in with long nose plyers and twisted the red lens to break it apart. It workerd. Now I just need the LED to arrive. Should look really cool.
You stinky little fuggin copy cat you. Thats the last time I share any info on this forum again, Sheeesh. <---- (totally not true)
And Indy, if the LED bulbs are not bright enough, we can always put the red 1157 bulbs I use in my clear tailights on my car and they will be just like having those red plastic thingys. Yea I remember now, those red things are bigger than the holes in the black base.................Cubby

I was at walmart earlier this week getting a dash bulb and saw that they had 1157 LED bulbs for $6.97.

I got the red globes out of my clear tail light. I unscrewed the four small screws which hold the globes to the base of the tail light. I then used a pair of tin snips and cut them up to fit out of the bulb hole... Worked great, no damage..... except for the globes....

i put in a pair last week .they work fine.this is really going to irratate my buddies,(they are usually behind me!)

Thosw things would piss me off if I had to ride behind you at night. My buddies would probably bust out my tail lights if they had to look at that. Gives me a headache just looking at the video clip.

Here are some larger diameter bulbs. They claim to be the brightest.
