I removed my stock tail light and installed the 14" led taillight bar from grote, now the brakelight doesnt come on all the time and I usually have to have the lever depressed really hard. I noticed the stock tail light had a small inline resistor so I tried wiring that in but no difference. Can anyone who has done this mod let me know if they had to install a load equlizer? I dont want to burn anything up. Thanks

I just wired mine up and it is working perfectly. I don't have the Grote brand but it looks similar.
Are you sure you don't have a wire switched by accident? Possibly a bad brake switch on the lever?

I pretty sure I have it wired correct, but I will check it again. I wil take a look at the switch to when I get back to the sled tommorow night. I never really noticed if the original brake light worked correct or not as I havent had a chance to ride the sled since purchasing it.
