Snomo Mags say 40% of new Yamaha sled sales come form another brand. I left Ski-doo after 2003 MXZX 800 engine froze crank @ 4,000 miles & rings were flaking. I bought non current 2007 Attack GT because I liked handling , 150 4s power & rider forward riding position. Most of all I thought 4s 150 engine was bullet proof. Did you purchase an Apex Attack from another brand & why?

I left ski-doo from a 2005 MXZ REV. The sled never failed on me but all my buddies REV's were blowing up, so i thought i would get out whiile i was ahead. I liked their sleds but compared to a yammy you just can't compare them. Knowing that the engine will basically never fail on you sold me at the spot, plus no more burning $40/gallon oil. The yamaha apex is the best sled i have ever been on by far.

Yep, came over from Polaris two years ago. I bought the machine because I wanted to try the new 4 strokes. I haven't been disspointed except I would like the steering to be a little easier. There were three of us that bought them at once. It was a buy 2 get the 3rd free deal at a dealership in NH. The other two guys sold theirs after one year of ownership and went back to Skidoo. They loved the motor but hated the turning of the machines. Being that they don't like to tinker with their machines, they were bound to go back to the lighter Skidoo's. I've been making subtle changes to mine over the last two years. I'm going to put some Simmons skis on it over the off-season and have the rear shock revalved and then I think it will be right on the money for my riding style.

Came from a 01 skidoo 800. It was a good sled to me, but the Yamahas just caught my eye. My apex has 7000 miles and i have had minimal problems. Over the last two years I have ridden literally every weekend during snowmobile season and have only missed 1 weekend because the sled was waiting for the 5$ exhaust donuts that went bad. With the apex's it appears that besides oil changes, every 5000 miles is a good time to do maintenance, which i feel is pretty good compared to other brands. No cleaning power valves or adding oil. Anyway I have drove my apex in some terrible conditions(especially last year), and the sled has handled everything very well. I will definantly going to be buying a Yamaha again, I am very pleased with how I have been treated when my sled does break down. I do know that others have not had as pleasant experiences though.

Last year I was on a 600 Rev that I had a lot of time and money in - never gave me any problems, but allways had a soft spot for an Apex. It was time to upgrade and I picked up a 08 Apex Gt 40th . . . time to start customizing. Cannot wait for winter this year.

Came over from 2005 Ski Doo MXZ 600 H.O. SDI Adrenaline. The Doo was a great sled - 3 seasons and 6,600 near trouble free miles (broke a shock). Motor was bulletproof. Great handling and light. Floated on the powder.
Now have 2007 Attak GT - bought left over at end of last season. Put on 3,043 miles this season. Took a little getting used to at first - heavy. Not good in powder. Smokin Motor - great pull and throttle response! Put some new skis on it and lowered the front end by reducing front shock preload. Handles pretty good now - awesome on groomed trail - decent on bumps but not a mogul king. Need to get the rear suspension dialed in better - not bottoming but not plush on small bumps - may need larger spring as others have recommended so I get ride height right. One inner rear wheel de-laminated (dealer replaced under warranty).
Overall I am happy with the sled. Just a little more fine tuning required.

I came to Yamaha in 98 when I had 3 DOO's hence the name Yamadoo, I then had a POO XCSP 800 with $ into HTG pipe etc, but the APEX drew me in.
I have loved the Apex

I switched from Poo to the 2003 RX-1 in 2002 because I too wanted to try out the 4-strokes. Now I own two Attaks and absolutely love these sleds.
