I just purchased a Powermadd left hand throttle. Put it on my 2003 RX 1. I had to take the locking nut off the carb side of the original cable (cable to tight). I got it mounted and everything seems to work fine. I start it up and occasionally the sled bogs and wont go (back fires). It happens more frequently when left hand throttle is used. I am guessing there is a throttle safety switch that needs to be disabled. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this and how they did it. Did anyone elso have this problem.
Yes I had this same problem, you have to disconnect the TORS. Also I had a problem with the throttle after about 600 miles, my throttle stuck wide open. I had to disconnect it.
It is definitely the TORS, but I don't know if I would disconnect it. I had the same problem when I put a 1" handlebar riser on. I had to push the handlebars forward to fix the problem. I was thinking of disconnecting the TORS but am glad I didn't. My throttle was wide open because the thottle cable was getting pulled. If I would have disconnected the TORS and started it, the sled would have done very bad things to my shop. I would try to fix the problem rather than disconnect the TORS. It is there for a reason.
