I have 450 miles on my rtx and I have a busted strap. No dealer has one and I want to ride. I thought that I seen on here that you guys where makeing them out of something. Why would it break and do you have any ideas what to do or use.( Read new idea on my 3rd post)

I fairly sure they are breaking because the center shock doesn't have enough rebound damping.

What happens when this shock fails is the suspension snaps back on the limiters very hard.

When I removed my suspension (after the straps broke), I discovered that the center shock was shot and there was a huge amount of nitrogen on the oil side (failed IFP piston seal).

You can ride without the straps, but be careful to keep the track tight enough that the track clips can't hit the rail tips and make sure the broken straps don't go under the front/center idler wheels and take them out (like mine did).

I ordered my straps in early/mid December and they came in about a week ago. I'm sure you could use the straps from another sled, but can't suggest which sled's straps would take the least amount of work.

What hole do you run in ? Mine are 1 hole from all of the way down. I went and got a nylon tow strap and it cut to length then folded it over it is the same width and thicknes as the factory strap. I belive it was a 3500 lb strap so folded over and double stitched on both sides should be stronger than original . I figured that I would try this untill new ones came in I will let you know how they work.
