This is because shortening the limiter strap causes the middle of the sled to to be shorter thus putting more pressure on the skis and rear. I've always liked my sleds to be setup so the middle of the sled is the pivot point. Therefore, I keep my limiter straps at full length and the center shock spring with a lot of preload to set the ride height of the center to be the tallest.
I shorten the strap by one hole on my Nytro and it made the steering more predictable with less push in the corners. Steering is still light but more responsive.
