Im looking to put a long track kit on my '08 apex gt. Probably a 136. Just looking for any info as to whom i should buy from, what kind of track, or if i should just leave it stock. I do alot of trail and off trail riding- not deep mountain or anything like that_ any info would be great. thx

I ride in Central NY where we have both powder and hardpack(lake effect snow). I am also doing the same thing with stretching the skid to a 136. I went with the 1.352 Cobra track---has the same top speed as the ripsaw yet has excellent loose snow traction. I am going to get my rail extensions from Muffinworks as well as the tunnel extension. Good luck!! :yam:

Where ever you buy it from, i would consider getting extensions that have the tip ups at the rear like the XTX.. not only do they reduce friction, they also do not affect handling as much in corners

Yeah the tip ups are supposed to be the ticket. You can go to 144" if you want. I think Tracks USA has them.

ya ulmer does have them but i think the 144 is a little much. I know with the tip ups it runs like a 136 but the extra weight of the track and the lower gearing will make my sled run slower and i don't really want that plus i don't know if i would ever really need the 144.

We are also offerring rail extensions as a new product .. either in straight rails, or a tip-up design. Our tip-up design utilized the same angle of tip-up (6 degress) as stock Yamaha rails.

Check out our website for details.

Muffin works did a great job on my 136" expert X suspension with 6 degree tip up.

Scott at OFTRacing has a great product for the extention and wheel kits. Their product also tips up and his wheels are second to none, in my opinion. I have the black wheels on my Nytro and put the relocator on for a masive difference in rider positioning for the steering.
