What is the longest stud I can put on my new RX-1 ? I have been told ,,,1.325 or 1.375. One guy had studs with a defferent number system, he said I could go up to 1.52. So what do you guys think ? I want the longest stud possible with out damage to my sled. Im going with 144 studs....thanks.

Longest stud possible?

I would like to run a camo 9800 136x1.5 track and a megabite 1.740 stud like all my buddys who ride sno-cross sled run. I wish someone could tell me if it can be done. I am gonna run 8 tooth drivers so i know theres enough clearance fir the track now can anyone answer this question of what is the longest stud you can run?

Gary, Woody's says 1.325. Many guys that work for them have RX-1's and they run 1.325 Megabites. Call them, I did.

It depends on track lug height. I wouldn't go more than 3/8" over the lug height. The lugs hit the tunnel protectors and prevent the studs from hitting the tunnel. Once you pass the level of protection the stud tips will hit the tunnel. I ran 1.25" picks on a camo .5" spped track and buzz sawed right through the front of the tunnel. I should have added more to the tunnel protectors. :o|

I just studded my Vector with 1325's as per Woody's recommendation.

My dealer has studded RX-1's with ripsaw with 1375's.

I am not aware of anyone going longer.

According to my dealer, 1.325 is the max you can go with stock tunnel protectors. Unless you're a lake racer, I wouldn't bother going any higher. You can however, cut lengths of hyfax, and rivet them to the existing protectors, to run a 1.375. More work, but he did it on his and hasn't had any problems. Torched heat exchangers will ruin your day, and cost alot to fix.

I run 1.370s on my sled... NO PROBLEM..

If you go 1.40 or longer you will need to add 1/4 protectors to your current protectors.. But studs that long are UNNECESSARY!

I have 1.40 for my Rage but that is what the stud manufacturer recommended. They measure overall length not just penetration. It depends on manufacturer

Good point Phantom, I should have mentioned that. Roetin for example, measures their studs differently than Woodys.

I guess nobody really knows what the longest stud that can be run is cause it sounds like everyone is stuck on 1.25 tracks. Guess I will just have to find out some other way.

Thats the trouble, the length depends ,on the manufacture. I dont know how a 1.40 compares to a 1.325. Im getting my studs at 'novi' this weekend. I dont care what kind I get. I will just gio with the best price. We have all kind of studs in our group, and we dont see much difference in the hook up and durability of any of them....
