So as it states I'm looking into buying an MTX for the wife, she says the apex is just too big/heavy for her. So I can tell you anyhting you want about my apex's, have 21000 miles combined on them.... But i know nothing of the phazers....
Please tell me what i need to look for on a used pahzer with....3000 miles... I'l be doing the routine, bushings, bearings, slides, etc.. but anyhting out of the ordinary... oh ya.. its a 2008 phazer MTX.
thanks guys...

I would bring the VIN to a dealer and make sure all the updates are done.
Other then that I would just look at the overall condition to see if anything is bent or broke. Dont forget the rear suspension.
I would add UPbushman's steering bushing to the list to take some of the play out. I was very happy with mine.

Like yam said check over anything major or impact damage should be very visible check oil most of what you will need is bearings ,bushings and slides so we may be more helpful in showing some better than stock aftermarket things like ulmer bushing kit which replaces all plastic bushings in A arms big improvement. So if you get it let us know what you plan to do and maybe we can recommend some other or better choices.

If the updates have been done and you are happy with the condition of the sled.
Maybe something to look at would be the grounding block beside the oil tank. Not sure about the 08 mtx but this part has cause many problems. A dealer will be able to tell you if it has gone through the updates.
I don't know of any major problems that would steer me away from it as long as it is in good condition.
Like kodak said if you do get it we can defiantly help you improve it!

Nice! I love my 09 RTX.
Its a blast to ride.
I think the suspension may kick back a bit too much, at least it did for me. I got it re-valved and the guy got it spot on, rides great now. I highly recommend a re valve if your wife finds it kicks back too much.
