I have been riding a 2003 rx1 and I'm looking at upgrading to a nitro. I'm going to look at a 2009 xtx today with about 4200 miles on it and I'm looking for suggestions for what to look for? Problem areas? I also have only rode 121's and don't know for sure if I want to go to a longer track. I do ride off trail more now but I had a 1.5 track on my off trail sled and it worked good. Any suggestions? Thanks

Look for a tweaked subframe. The front shocks should be centered in A arms. Tilt sled over on each side and see if front suspension bushings and tie rod ends are loose by wiggling each ski. If you can not stall it out from idle by blocking the exhaust off it has an exhaust leak. If it has been rode hard the oil tank may be cracked near the mounting tabs. Ask if there are any upgrades done. Also look for the same stuff you would on any sled, track condition, idler bearings etc.I do not think buying a 144 would be bothersome to you. I like mine.

Picked up a leftover 13xtx last year. Put duponts on it, new larger carbides on the factory tuner skis a new spring on the primary clutch and adjusted the suspension and couldn't be happier.
