So off the top of my head....
-track/suspension
-check exhaust with leather gloves or rags
-check front bushings....DO I need to bring a jack???
-timing chain noise and tensioner...Can I see the DOT without taking a bunch of crap off???
-handwarmers
-anything else I'd be able to check on a test drive and a good look over???????
THANKS GUYS. I haven't been here in years until recently, I forgot how great this site is and how helpful everyone is on here...much better than HCS & dootalk

I picked up a 05 Rage back in November and here is a list of what I found wrong with it when i went to look at it, 7000 miles.
Exhaust Donuts- I can hear them pretty easily, but the glove test also works.
Front Bulkhead and A Arm bushings- Pick up the front end and wiggle it. Ulmer, MPI/Yamaha oilite kit to fix.
If the rear shock is the steel bodied one, plan on a replacement - $150 for an aftermarket rebuildable
The centershock- most likely blow. Usually has visible oil.
Oil Tank - Cracked near lower front mounting tab. Reach down and feel. Any good radiator shop can weld it up
Lower W arm bushings- This is a hard one to check with the shock on. I didn't find this until i was rebuilding the shock. $12 worth of bushings
Clutch side Drive bearing - Plan on replacing it
I haven't been to concerned with the tensioner. I know all 3 of mine still have the original one and all three have 7000 miles and the motors are quiet. Only way to see it is when the exhaust donuts are serviced.
Check the gear lube
