Loss of top end, some remedies.

Woodtic,

I think your right about the dayco ultimax 3 belt. I bought 2 and yes they are softer and grip better but softer rubber means more streth which increases the center to center ditance at hard acceleration. I think I will go back to the stock RX belt.

I dont know if this helps but we loss some mid-range and top-end by 7mph. in tests against other rx-1s by using the dayco 4432 ultimax 3 belt. When the stock Yamaha belt was put back on we gained the top-end back. Woodtic

I too lost top end with this belt. I took it back off and replaced my original belt and the speed came back.

While helping a friend reinstall the engine in his Indy 500 after having it rebuilt this winter we ran into problems making any adjustments to the center to center and alignment of the clutch and engine. We had the proper Polaris alignment tool which showed us that that alignment required some adjustment, but we just could not get any significant adjustment done.

Is this better with the RX-1? Exactly WHERE do you adjust this?

Had My dealer Install my filters synced the carbs forrlowd your directions side by side with dads stock warrior on top end almost 130 spedo speeds in perfect conditions.

127-127 spedo
118Mph on my gps with freddies kit with red springs.

Exact same speed top end as the one with the stock airbox just gets there quicker. :D
