Looking for a honest opinion

I dont know how some of you guys get your sleds to break all the time. I ride mine hard but I dont beat the piss out of it. If you abuse something hard enough its going to break. I don't understand why people on this site sit and rip Yamaha. If there is something better out there go buy that sled. Anyways, I have almost 2000 miles on my phazer and its awesome. You aren't going to beat your buddys across the lake, but you sure have a lot of fun on it when you aren't in a drag race. Dollar for dollar I don't think you will find a nicer, more reliable sled.

Add needle bearings for the steering column and a decompression spring to the list.

wow you bought a beat the hell up sled. my zr 600 was the same way but that was one example not all of them.

Everything that was replaced was under warranty and/or a recall. It seems that every piece has an updated part. Don't get me wrong, its a blast and I love it, but its been in the shop 4 times in 2 weeks. I realize its a machine and it breaks, oh well. Just sucks getting towed out and trying to sidehill behind a Crossfire7. I'm really looking forward to having it all fixed up, the dealer is great, they will even come to my house and pick it up. In fact, he let me use a spankin new Nitro MTN tonight for a 3 hour ride. Hard to keep it under 10K though! Awesome in the deep snow, sidehills much better, easy to boondock but is more squirrely on the groomed trails than my GT.

that is one nice thing about the yamahas is they seem to be standing behind them. with the arctic cat i got welcome to sled ownership lol.

I'm about your size, haven't ridden in about 10 years, bought a 08 RTX in November.

A great sled, took a bit to get used to, but once I did it was great on twisty trails. You really have to drive it though to to the most out of it.

Overall, I wasn't completely happy, came down to top end and overall grunt. It was just too small and underpowered for me.

So I took a beating, traded it last week on a 08 Vector.

Much more my type of sled, it really comes down to preferences.

Again, the Phazer is a great sled, just be sure you know what it's capable of and what you want out of it.

Good luck, keep us posted with your decision.
