Hey Guys,

New to the forum

I have been researching nytros as much as possible but I want to make sure what I have read is accurate. I live in Ontario, Canada and have seen nytros for sale up here with good prices.

I chose a nytro, specifically xtx because I will be riding mostly trails but also some deep snow. Is this the right snowmobile for me ?

I also want to clear up what year I should be looking for. From what I have read I should avoid the 08. Is the 08 to 09 the biggest upgrades gap or had there been other major upgrades from 09 to 13 ?

What are some of the things on a used snowmobile I should check to avoid costly repairs before riding ?

What would be considered high km (or miles) for these used snowmobiles ?

Xtx is the perfect crossover as long as you dont spend alot of time off trail. Then a 1.75 track would be better.
The 09 has the new front spindle geometry not supposed to be as twitchy as the 08's.
Check to make sure bulk head isnt bent. Can usually tell by looking at front shock spring clearances see if its all even.
Check front a arm bushings for slop. If the oillites already havent been put in. If the miles are high on the machine over 8000km or so speedo and drive bearings should be changed. 15000km is nothing on these machines IF they have been maintained properly. They will go over 30000km. I know they need a valve adjustment at some point but not sure about that. Im sure others will chime in too. Good luck 3rd year on my xtx with mamy upgrades and it works awesome now. Out of box not the best
