with my style of riding i want the hard shock they are like new with 1500 miles on them.

these are the black gytr clicker shocks,
im located in s.e. michigan and they are like brand new

I personally would not trade GYTR's for first generation Fox floats. Unless you are only looking to drop weight, you'd be getting the raw end of the deal.

Same here. Way to hard to set the rebound from soft to hard. Definitly need the good ones with the resevoirs to help with a little bit of that issue. If no one can help here. Check ebay if you are interested. I sold my Fox floats on there, then bought a brand new set of GYT's on ebay for only $50 more then I sold my floats for. Just an idea/fyi

How many miles on them? Any marks? I just bought an 08 RTX and will be getting it within the next week or so and I'm not sure if I want to stick with the floats ( undecided )....got any better pics?

Good move IMO shadow

I'm wondering about the GYT's?

When one increases the compression damping using a GYT shock, wont that affect both high AND low speed damping?

In other words, if I have the valve stack set to handle chatter (high speed)properly, and turn up the damping to help control G-holes, won't that affect (basically ruin) what I have going on in the chatter bumps?

I'm questioning the value of these adjustments, beyond something to use for just temporary conditions? Or am I missing something?

Apologies if this is straying from the subject too far....

Send them out to be revalved. I had mine revalved stiffer for my weight and riding style and love them.

I would be interested how the GYT black shocks would work on that sled. If they are the black ones they are likely off of an apex or vector which I believe are shorter shocks. It may handle awesome. In my experience with the 2008 floats they were way harsh. I bottomed my gyt shocks on my XTX too easy. I have since revalved but haven't tried them yet.

Here is the data I got from the Ohlins website on shock length and stroke between the apex and nytro front shocks:

YA 862
Technical dataLength 445
Rate 22
Stroke 136,5
Fitted spring 00281-46
Position front
Type S36PR1C2
Year 2008 - 2009
Fits Yamaha Nytro RTX
Yamaha Nytro RTX SE
Yamaha Nytro XTX

YA 560

Technical dataLength 419,5
Rate 23
Stroke 131
Fitted spring 00180-84
Position front
Type S36PC1
Year 2006 - 2008
Fits Yamaha Apex ER
Yamaha Apex GT
Yamaha Apex RTX
Yamaha Attak
Yamaha Attak GT
Yamaha Nytro
Yamaha Nytro ER
Yamaha RS Rage
Yamaha RS Rage GT
Yamaha RS Vector
Yamaha RS Vector ER
Yamaha RS Vector GT
Yamaha RX Warrior
Yamaha RX Warrior GT

yes these came off a new apex. they are about 1/2 inch shorter, they are like new. no marks. always been stored indoors and enclosed trailer, they are a much better in the corners because they are not as stiff you dont get that crazy nose dive when you hit the brakes. I do a lot of boon docking and off trail looking for something stiffer.

I have an 2008 Nytro RTX with the Fox floats i would be interested in trading. I added the additional nextex resevoir to the shocks.

you bottomed your front shocks out easily on the XTX> may I ask what's your weight?
details on what was done and who revalved them please?

My opinion, too.
Please remember that the GYT-R reservoir type shock absorber is a more sophisticated shock absorber concept than the relatively cheap IFP type shock absorber used in the first generation of Fox Floats. In theory, the reservoir type shock absorber can be valved for anything between soft trail cruising and snocross, but the IFP type shock absorber can never be valved for serious amounts of compression damping (this is the reason why you see no IFP type shock absorbers in snocross...). If you are looking for a hard setup, I would stay with revalved GYT-Rs...
