LOOKS LIKE YAMAHA IS THE WORLDS FASTEST SLED

No problem, I agree I'd like to see what the machine would do on ice. p.s. Just spendin' time 'till the snow flies, and watching my Rhino in the shop, to make sure it doesn't turn over.

OK, when I saw this on youtube and posted it I new it would be very
contravesal. I can see every ones opinion wright or wrong I don't know
but good points to be had on both side of the coin.
But I think what they are doing is good for the sport or it cant hurt.
You will not see me running my sled down the asphalt. Just not for me,
but it was cool to see.

When I was 13 years old
I thought I had the worlds fasted snowmobile, it would hit 55mph till
now. HaHa

thanks,
rf

Me too!

I thought I had the worlds fasted snowmobile, it would hit 3 mph downhill....LOL... ;)!

A snowmobile runs on snow and ice, this machine may have parts from a snowmobile but the fact is they set the record on asphalt, not snow or ice. Let them run this machine on snow/ice and set the same record then I'll consider it a snowmobile. Just my opinion. It is much much harder to run that speed on snow/ice. A nice piece of engineering using Yamaha parts.

It could easily be converted to ice.

I've run asphalt, ice and a limited amount of dirt. I can tell you the speed run on asphalt in the same distance is very similar on ice. Slightly faster on asphalt in a longer distance, 1/4 mile or more, due to less windage with a smooth asphalt track. Distances of 660 feet you will see identical speeds as ice. There doing an amazing job running 210 on a snowmobile track. I wouldn’t want to be on it when it blows the track out. I don't think it's a matter of if it blows, but when it blows at speeds over 200. It’s a risky proposition.
