I have that wheel in front of the rear axle too. I suggest putting that on there as well. Mine are getting close to the line and have been there for the last 1000 miles. I'm not changing these hyfax this year.... they can last 2500 miles, every other brand does it no problem.

Can u post a pic of the wheels in front of the rear axle. I have 3400+ miles on original hyfax. I still have a 1/8" before wear line.

Before I put 136 kit in ,hyfax wear was mostly last 2/ 3 length of sliders. Now with 136, length of slide is pretty good but, wear is terrible at bend of rail! Go figure ! My plan right now is to put small idler at bend of rail and install wheel fromXTX where I have small wheel now. I can't believe some guys are getting the miles on a set of slides they're claiming! As far as more wheels goes, I thought bogey suspensions went out 30 years ago. Patience is starting to wear as thin as my hyfax.

My experience so far has been:
Loose track - Hyfax wears from the front wheel to the rear wheel.
Tight track - Hyfax wears at the front bend and less so between the wheels.

I started out last weekend on a railroad grade that was icy but had at least 2 inches of snow on top and I burned my slides up in 20 miles!!!! They only had a 100 miles on them before that. I have never seen anything like that before and it they wore the whole length of the slide. I had to laugh a little even though it cost me money.

check out this link, nlvmax was nice enough to post the part numbers you'll need to get an extra set of 130mm wheels in front of the rear wheels. Have a look, you'll see what I mean.

I believe the problem with running a loose track is at higher speeds the track actually "balloons" in the tunell and starts to bunch up after the drivers. Mike Knapp covered this subject a while back and said a tight track equals a fast sled.

Just a note to Zeke66 about my terrible hyfax wear. My track w/ wahl drivers is so loose now that I can't check tension of my track on jackstand because track is hanging to the ground. I know this is excessive and is hurting my top end but I'm getting so desperate I'm trying anything. So its not a tight track causing wear at bend of track. When I raced Cat in cross-country, a decade or two ago, we would run track as loose as possible.
