Personal choice. Tightening or loosening the center spring will lift or drop ski's for handling to personal preference. Dropping ski's will increase heavy steering, lifting ski's will lighten steering but too much will slide. It's a balancing act. Rider weight, snow conditions, ski quality, carbides etc...
I am running my rear spring on it's lightest setting with the shock on #2. It was on medium setting but I wasn't happy with weight transfer and pressure on ski's. I also trimmed rear transfer block to give maximum transfer.

I weigh 290lbs and my front spring is 7”, clicker on #2 and rear springs on #2 clicker on #2, rebound 8 from full soft, transfer on #1, limiter strap hole#2. I have tried everything for 1300 miles and this setup is what works for me. I love it but I don’t think my buddy’s on skidoo’s like not being able to catch the big heavy tank on a beat trail.
