I have a buddy with an 09 Ltx and the studs are damaging the cooler.
Anyone come up with a fix?

You have to add more protection by adding an old hyfax or strips of aluminum. Taper it to just behind the upper wheels.
This has been posted here lot's of times. On the older units like mine the rear cooler was aftermarket and was different. But we needed 1 1/2 of protection on top of fins or they would hit. This is with 1.325 studs.
Some say the track lugs are soft and bend more then past tracks allowing the studs to penetrate.
