Read lots about the disappointing Maverick track, but have also heard that it is better then the Challenger? My Nytro loves to trench, have tighten the limiter strap etc. and still digs itself in. But I can jump on my wifes M8 and have no problems where I get stuck with the Nytro. I prefer the riding position of the Nytro. Have an opportunity to purchases a take off Challenger from a Cat. But have also heard the M1000 trenches and its because of the weight. Is it a track problem or a weight thing?

The Maverick on the Nytro isn't a great track.

The lugs are too soft and start to bend over. People really like the Challenger Extreme or the new PowerClaw track from Arctic Cat.

Just got a brand new Power Claw to replace the Maverick!

Can't wait to try it!

I'm going to try the Arctic Cat take off 2.25" CE this year. I'm thinking I might need to re-gear it to accomodate the extra drag that bigger paddle will create.....any ideas?

i thought the mtx was 2.25"???

unless your going 159+, i don't think you'll need a regear..specially w/ those lighter tracks.

I'm going to put set screws into the lugs of my stock track to stiffen the paddles. If that doesn't work then I'm going to replace with the old Maverick track (162" off an Apex). I feel the old maverick was a pretty good all around track.

You are correct, the two tracks are the same height lug-wise, but the paddle on the CE is much broader, and with stiffer lugs should push more snow, hence I was thinking more drag. You think stock gearing would be fine? I'm on the fence bout it.....

I can get an attak 20 for a really good price. Anyone hear anything about that one on a nytro or any sled for that matter?

What ever you do, do not put an Attack 20 on your nytro. They sucked on the Cats and I can only imagine they'd be even worse on a Nytro.

The Attack 20 was great in endless Powder, but horrible for any snow setup at all. So spring old snow, and any hardpack.

I turned an attack 20 around on my rx-1 and it would grab hold like a mofo... But turning around and coming back down the hill was damn near out of control... the lugs would fold over and away I'd go. If you're boon-docking an attack 20 might be pretty fun if its on backwards. I have seen some pretty sweet deals on those track due to the bad reputation they've gotten.

But if you're thinkin of putting it on forwards I'd go with something else...
