Hey guys, currently running a nytro turbo with a motor built by Hurricane dynoed at 324hp at 17.7lbs of boost. Looking to go up to 400hp or so and was wondering what the limit would be on the stock primary or if I'd have to upgrade to a tapp/stm/micro belmont.
Thanks!

It has been said 300. Leaving a lot on the table after that with stock clutch?

To add to what kviper said... We've ran over 400 HP with the stock primary but quickly start running out of realestate to put heavy enough weights in...
Also it's still only a cast clutch, even being a Yamaha. Playing with fire at those bigger HP levels, I'd switch to a billet and be safe.

I'm running an impulse front mount gt2871 on k16 renegade fuel. When I up the boost I'm probably gonna switch that turbo out for a 3071.

Accentstripe1,
Check out the GTX30 series...

We have found the Yamaha clutch pretty reliable up to 350hp but over that will distort the sheaves and bind the bushing

That's what just happened to mine this winter .I'm at 375hp.I put a micro Belmont on now but now putting a bigger turbo on,lol

What made you decide to go with a micro Belmont? I tried looking at their website but it's been under construction for awhile now.

My buddy had it on his 500hp rx1.He eventually went up to the 600hp mark and went with supreme tool clutches so I got a deal on it.

Nice, have any plans for your secondary? I was looking at the Stm but it said that the rage was wasn't recommended and was not going to be warrantied for the nytro 1000. Was going to talk to Dave at hurricane since he sells them.

Nope going to try to stick with the yamaha but I will be around 500hp this year and a different chasis.
