Michigan with 5-8" of fresh stuff on top they would plow alot in the twisties and sweepers when trying to keep a faster pace... where the deeper keel stock skis or C&A pro type skis would work alot better! ;)!

maybe at a fast pace, but mountain riders out here usually dont go over 35 on the trails so we can hit sidehills. I do agree that my deep keel ski's do very well trying to go faster through curves though

I like my stock skis along with the 6" Bergstrom carbides and shim and ski saver seems to work very well! C& A might work better or even Sly Dogs in the type of trails that I ride.

Exactely ! I'm not saying the Simmons are bad skis I guess its all how you ride and where you ride ;)!

I purchased the Pioneer kit. It is 45", includes straight rate springs and a 12mm bar. It wasn't much more that the other one. It's also lighter nd stronger than stock.

Maddog, good info...I'm sort of in the same situation you were in; want to upgrade/enhance my front suspension. Have done the straight rate springs (2.1), 11mm sway bar, and longer links as well as Simmons and ski shim. At first I was going to get a thicker sway bar (13mm) and stiffer srpings (2.3) but then thought I would try a set of Ohlins front shocks. Now you got me thinking about this wide front-end kit. Pioneer does seem to offer a better "total" package than Max Performance but am sure either kit will work. I was just wondering if the results you got were from the combination of all the items you've installed up front or do you think the wide front-end kit was more to credit? In other words, would one still need to purchase the Ohlins along with this kit to get similar results?

The Ohlins where a major improovement, however I feel the wide kit did more. I did the mods in several steps, so I could feel the differences, and compare the results against each other. I'm still not sold on the simmons. I rode in some crust this weekend and was not the least bit happy with the ski's. Seems the changes in sled set up for different conditions is magnified with these ski's. I'm looking into some other ski possibilties for next season.

Anyone know if they(Pioneer) sell a wide front end kit for a vector or Rage yet along with the 12mm sway bar?

Yes, I looked in my catalog and there is one listed at the same price as the RX1. $549 I'd call and see if there is a special on them this time of year

ok thank you

Maddog is right. This is the second season with the wide front end on my Warrior. Even with the 136 my sled rails. I don't have to lean or work to fly threw the trails. Just stear and push the trigger. Even the 06 models don't handel quite as well as a RX with a wide front end. ;)!

sledgeheadgeorge, do you have Ohlins shocks on the front of your Warrior? Just trying to decide which way to go; Ohlins or wide-kit since one, limited funds and two, end of season. :o|

No I don't have Olins on yet. I installed the 2.3 rate springs with the 12 mm bar and the pioneer kit. It all comes in one package. ;)!

I got an e-mail response from Pioneer and they wont have a kit available till this fall for a Rage or Vector model in case anyone is interested.

I guess their catalog was a published a little ahead. Like maybe a year early... sounds like their trying to maintain the same lead times as Yamaha does on their accessories!!!
