With all the reports of failing arms, me losing wheels, blowing through hyfax etc. I might consider throwing a Ski-Doo SC10-3 into my 2005 RX1.
Honestly....I love the sled but in my opinion the suspension is the weakest link on the machine that is prone to failure.
I know Dave has put one in his 2003 but what I am wondering is if the installation would be the same or not for a 2005?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Meirda....in a 2005? I'd be interested in getting some details on this? Mounting locations etc. What suspension did he actgually use? Was it a SC-10-III?
I give credit where it's due and the SC-10-III is a great skid. Had them in my REV's.

Actually....he has an 03. I am pretty sure it is a SC10 III
You'll get no where close to as good of a ride as the monoshock.
Spring for the rail upgrades with the new front bump stops - get zerks puts in and the updated bushings. You shouldn't have any problems - if your over 200 lbs - either move the clip on the shock or get the fat boy spring.
You'll be a lot better off than the average at best Doo skid. It is the worst skid on the market behind Pols Edge and Cats Zr skids.

Yeah yeah....that's all been done already. It's the guys cracking arms and losing wheels and wearing hyfax that I want to avoid....! Oh well....there's always an M10 or ExpertX
We will ride 4000-5000 miles this year so it's not too long before this stuff can happen and I don't like having to "worry" about it. I agree.....the MonoShock is a GREAT skid....just not as durable as I would like it.
