Tryed to set up my 2 stage boost controller this weekend and could not get it set lower than 10lbs. Disconected the boost controller and though that the lines comming up from the rear mount unit must have been restricted so to test it I re installed the line from the presure side of the the turbo direct to the waste gate accuator. This is the stock setting from MC, 8lbs. Went out for a ride and still shows 10lbs of boost. Could the accuuator need some adjustment, after so many miles? I have just over 3 thousand miles on it now. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't believe the electronic controller will go below what the actuator is set at. So, the 1o#'s would be right. Just lenghten the rod to reduce it back to 8 #'s.

Whats got me puzzled is how come boost level was at 8 lbs before I hooked up the controller, and now its at 10 lbs with the stock set up? The arm was never changed. I am wondering if the diafram in the accuator could have been damaged with a high spike in boost level? The BOV has not been set up yet.

At low elevation you will create more boost,so when you get up in the mountains you will be down to 8lb's again. Or just l;engthen the rod like the othere guy said

I had to loosen my actuator rod by about 4 turns to get my boost down to about 10. I dialed up 12lbs with my boost controller and when we came down the Mtn. it jumped up to 15lbs.

I ride at the same area, do you guys think a change in climate would affect the boost? I have never seen this before, but I just put the boost meter on this year and never noticed a change in boost presure. It was always at 8 lbs.

If the air temp is colder and denser than usual the boost will definitely increase.

SLEDHEAD- The gated valve (check valve and spring) that comes with the two stage controller spikes your boost. Take out that Turbosmart tee and install one w/o a check valve to get the boost down that 2 lbs.

Thats fine but as I posted earlyer, I disconected the boost controller and installed the preasure line from the positive side of the turbo back to the accuator(stock setting). Boost should be at 8lb. But it is not its at 10lbs now. I am wondering if the boost controller spiked enough that it would damage the diafram in the accuator?
