3500 miles
Stock Springs (White Primary, cant remember secondary, but stock)
90 deg twist
8 tooth extros (stock drivers are 9 tooth)
stock gearing
MCX supplied weights (78.7G ea)
Shockwave helix set at lowest angle (39 deg i think)collar is bottomed out.
just switched out to Dalton weights 73G Starting weight. Didnt change anything else
6 psi boost (1600')

Switching primary weights didnt change a thing. I thought i would have hit the rev limiter first time but nothing. will not pull 8900 off the line.
hits 8200-8300 then slowly climbs past 9000 (about a mile run)

changed plugs
belt has only 200 miles on it

I need a little help here? shallower helix? lighter weights steeper angle on shockwave? More boost? :sled1:
Help me get this thing motoring

TFG

HMMMMMM....i think i jsut read that the shallowest angle the Shockwave goes to is 42 degrees. Can someone confirm this for me please
That will be part of my problem, im also going to reduce twist in my secondary to 70 degrees as read on here about the coil binding on the white spring. have a purple EPI that i will throw in too

Go to the EPI Purple at 0-1 or 0-2. Find a straight 41 Cam to try. The Dalton weights really push hard. Which rollers do you have, 14.5 or 16.5?

Also Primary Spring Blue-White-Blue and make sure it doesn't have lots of miles on it. Fresh springs every could of years doesn't hurt.

Stock rollers for the XTX. I believe they ar different from the MTX. Not sure of the size but never changed them. Do you think 10 or 20 degree twist is enough. Dseems like a slow backshift to me?

Wait until you try to put it on you will see that it will be enough. Also with a lower angle helix it will backshift better and have more belt pressure.
MTX has 16.5 stock but most will go to 14.5.
Set the secondary up with the EPI spring then check for belt slipping/clutch heat then remove/add weight to get RPM where it needs to be.

I had the EPI purple on at 50 degrees once before. And ya, was a handful to put on to say the least.
I think I need to get under 40 degree on ramp angle to get rpms up don't you?

Might be worth a try. I went from 47 to 43 and RPMs went up 600, I know not to use the secondary clutch to tune RPMs but if your helix is too steep it will load the engine too early and not allow it to rev up. Also smaller angle will require less spring pretension.
