The push rod on my waste gate is bent, I'm guessing that it shouldn't be bent and that this is probably contributing to my low boost numbers.. is that correct???

I kinda doubt that's your problem. Most likely you have an exhaust leak, or a boost leak. But first you need to check out the operation of the wastegate. To see what pressure its opening at, & to see if will hold a vacuum to make the diaphragm is not leaking. Here is picture of the nytro mcx, rod looks pretty much like yours. Last time I rode the sled, I was making 17lbs in Revelstoke.

This what my vacuum/pressure pump looks like. Can get it @ any local napa dealer for around $100cdn. Very handy tool for turbocharged sleds, hard to do any testing without one.

Thanks for the reply and the pictures, good to know the rod is fine. I got thinking about and exhaust leak so I pulled to tank to have a look at the headers and all three flanges were burnt up so I would have been losing exhaust pressure like mad.. I have a vacuum pump simular to yoursee and will try to pressure test everything tomorrow. .

Should replace the exhaust donuts with the copper style. When I checked the wastegate out, once I got to 15lbs on the gauge. The rod just starting moving out the pot. The mcx tcv has been replaced with a manual booster controller on this sled. Not sure if yours still has that.

What's the tcv? Sorry I'm quite new to these things.

Its in your first picture, Follow small vacuum lines from the turbo the little black plastic box with 3 nipples on it. There will be also blue/brown wires going to it. The mcx ecm(under the hood somewhere) tries to keep boost level the same. Sometimes they don't work so well. Hence, a manual boost controller gets installed. I can post what manual boost controller looks like tomorrow if your not sure.

Ahhh that little thing. Yeah if you could post a picture of the manual controller tomorrow that would be great!

Here is couple pics of manual booster controller that Turbosmart makes. There is lots of different ones out there, a search online will find lots. But you have to know what your doing with it. Cant just set to 17lbs & all will be good. It depends on a lot things, octane rating, if your riding in the mtns, etc. There is more info about fuel requirements/boost levels, you will need to research that.

So I pulled the lines and pressure tested the pot for the wastegate, no vacuum and no biuld up for pressure. (tried both just to be sure) So my question is can i just get a universal wastegate actuator or does it have to be an mcx part?

Best advice I can give you on that, call Brad @ PG motorsports in Prince George BC. He is the MCX guy. Unless you can find a local Yamaha dealer that has one in stock.
