Medium or Tall Windshield

After riding my stock Apex-ER today for 100 miles in mid 20's I have come to the conclusion it is too cold for me. I need to get something taller. I like the looks of the mid height windshields much better than the tall one and would prefer it if it would keep me warmer. Is the mid height optional windshield taller than stock shield. My stock shield only measures about 13 inches from dash to top. Can anyone give me a measurement that has the mid or tall windshields? Is the mid height shield taller than stock? I know what the catalog says and the measurements seem to be off - so not sure how Yamaha measures this.

with the higher seat and windshield farther forward and lower it will be a cold ride .

I have the mid height optional windshield on my apexGT. It is the same height as your ER windshield. I compared it to a ER in the showroom when I picked mine up at the dealer.
