Can any one help me with this mid range back fire.At 40 to 50 miles per hour when hitting hard bumps she does this every time.Other then that she is fine.THANKS

Boy, that's a new one on me. A backfire usually indicates a lean condition or possibly an electrical intermittent.

Blue Shadow,

First where are you from ????

Second did you have your carb off to clean them and if so are you
sure they are seated back into place properly and your choke cable
is not a little tight or another thing is to check your t.o.r.s. adjustment
also did you change the needle position????

Third there is a problem with the float bowls that will cause this and if
its a mountain sled there is a retrofit to cure this. (i can almost guarantee
that its this problem you got)

hope you find you problem.

I'm with True Blue, it's gotta be the float bowls, call your dealer and get the float bowl update

Had the backfire condition happen right after hitting a bump, however, it also blew a fuse and killed the engine.... found out the ignition wire was being chafed where it touches the steering column.

I'm not sure that the this is related to your problem... but have you rerouted the igition wire and wrapped protective lomb around it?

Update fuel bowls, maybe it's lean in the mid range. Try raising your needles to see if it affects it. What mains are you running and what altitude?

Running 37.5 jetting at sea level ,clips drop one position.PS.kmar I will check my wiring THANKS Everyone :)
