was riding all day today... my first tank of fuel i got from the city.

my second tank of fuel was sunoco 94 from a small town.

during my second tank my sled began sputtering only after i shut down for a quick piss.

i slowly rolled onto the throttle and it "went away". like they dried up.

soon after we stoppped at an intersection and the sled idled while we checked our maps. it began to misfire or stumble, again.

i eased onto it and gave wot and it would clear out.

i am thinking it is just bad gas but am worried to be stranded on a 3day trip next week.

the plugs are new cr10ek with about 500miles on them.

i always let me sled warm up before shutting off.

i should mention that the sled goes like a raped ape when they seem to dry up.

should i investigate or will this burn off?

thanks in advance!

If the new gas/Seafoam doesn't work then check the caps on the plugs you installed. If one is coming loose it would misfire.

okay. i tried the seafoam and it didnt work so then i checked the plugs. they were milky brown and the caps were on tight.

the issue is pronounced on engine restart (when hot) and on stop and go. it has gotten worse. now it will backfire and pop at lower rpms where the issue exists.

i want to point a finger at the coilpacks or the exhaust.

i put two hands over the exhaust at startup and the motor bogged down a bit but no stall. could the donuts cause this misfire issue?

On the bold. Personally I wouldn't have purchased that gas, especially from a small town up north. Your sled doesn't require it so why even try running it?

The big reason imo not to run it, especially from a small town it that more than likely that is the oldest gas at that station as most don't run it nor can afford it.

I recently got back from a trip to North Bay, we needed gas one day and the only place was a small restaurant that had a small above ground tank. Gas was $155.9 a litre no less but from what we understood, it was pretty fresh as supposedley they go through a pile of it.

If by any chance there was 89, 91 or 94 octane there, I would have stayed far and clear from it.

Most people don't use 94 octane. the gas was probably stale, or had condensation.

Use the octane the owner's manual says to use, then send me the extra money you were wasting by buying 94 octane.
