I was doing some maintanance on my RTX and noticed that the small cooling fan for the radiator above the right footwell has no fan blade on it, the motor is there but no fan blade or nut that holds it on. Even if it was there and fell off it would have no where to go and would be sitting in the shroud. Sled never overheated, just thought it was strange. I guess I really don't need it. Does anyone one know when that fan comes on?

I was running my sled on 4 inches of very hard packed snow last night. Very little snow to hit the coolers. The fan was running almost the whole time. The overheat light never came on though. I don't have a temp gauge so I don't know what temp it kicks on at.
This is from a previous post. That will tell you at what temperature that light will lite up.
Yummy said:First test of my digital water temp.
Slow trail (35-50): 172-176*F
Medium (50-65): 180-186*F
Fast (65-90): 188-196*F at this point the side fan goes on then water temp. go down to 182 before going back up.
Very Fast (above 90): the highest I saw was 202*F.
Then we did 4 miles on ice road with NO snow, the temp. when up.....At 213, the high temp. light when ON. After, the temp when up to 215..stay there a few minutes then when up to 216-217. All this was at 50mph.
I'm very happy with this gauge. Now I know exactly what going on with water temperature under the hood.
Next I will be installing a rear exchanger...if I can find one, seems everyone is out of stock for the next 2-3 weeks.

Very strange as that is supposed to be an assembly??? I'd better take a closer look at mine.

It sounds like a good thing for every one to check. At the end of last season (4,000 Mi on sled) while going over my GT i found two of the three screw's mising that hold the fan in and the third was about to fall out. The problem is you can not buy the shouldered screw's seperately so i just used screw's with washer's and lock tighted them in. Must be a lot of vibe's in that area. kviper

I just looked up the fan blade on the fisch and it turns out all you can get is the whole assembly with the motor, and that is 130.00 so I guess i'll be looking for a used one or leave it alone but my luck would be that now that I know I have no fan it will overheat. Would have been nice to catch it while it was under warranty, oh well.

I'd take the fan out and hit an appliance repair place and I bet they could retro fit..fitting it with another wont be rocket science..
