I rode for about 5 years with a MX helmet, but it was just too cold.
I had a couple instances when the temps were 0* F and I ended up getting frostbite on my face. I tried various breathguards and making sure I didnt have any exposed skin, but they were still to cold.
I now wear a modular helmet with a heated shield and Im pretty happy with it. Im no longer cold and with the heated shield it doesnt fog up and doesnt ice up.
Being attached to your sled by a cord is kind of annoying, but you get used to it.
