I was going to get my skid shock revalved but how do you remove the adjuster knob from front suspension arm. Do you just unscrew the brass fitting at the shock, I have it set at full hard. What is the procedure for install. TIA

Set it to FULL SOFT for a re-build. Makes it easier to take apart from what I was told from Bruce at Pioneer.01S XR700 said:I was going to get my skid shock revalved but how do you remove the adjuster knob from front suspension arm. I just unscrewed the cable from the fitting and sent it in.

Yes. jsut unscrew the cable from the shock and leave the rest of it attached to the skid and tunnel.
Be careful when pulling on the cable after you unscrew it because you can pull the cable housing out of the crimped end that attaches to the shock.
As far as the setting. When i recieved my shock back from pioneer I got a install note that says to make sure your dampener adjustment is set to FULL SOFT when you install it. This is for dampening adjustment reasons on the shock to get the full benefit of the re valve.

I have the letter that came with my reworked shock right in front of me. It states "make sure to have the RA set all the way to the HARD setting before hooking up the cable. Failure to fo this will limit the useable adjustment range of the shock adjustment" Hope this helps you.
