Pulled my skid frame out last night to change hyfax and do a general inspection. Can anyone give me some tips on re-installing? I tried for 2 hrs. to get the front bolts to line up. No luck. Should I do the rear ones first? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Its a two man job most of the time.

skid install
I have found getting the front suspension arm lifted up into the tunnel to line up the bolts etc can be a challenge due to the rivets and tunnel stiffener metal thickness in the way. I think the tunnel must "close up" slightly after you pull the suspension arm out, making it more difficult to re-install. I have broken the flanges off on the plastic bushings trying to wrestle the arm up in there past this stuff.
What I ended up doing to make it easier was to use a woodworking bar clamp (soft jaws with trigger stlye clamp) with the jaws reversed to spread the tunnel a bit, makes life much easier.
Hope this helps, been there done that, cussed & heaved wrenches around the shop over it too!
Cheers!

I should add - a second person always makes the job easier.

I ended up putting the rear mounts in first, then pushing the front mounts up into position. I had tried to put front in first, but also could not get it to line up.

I just prop the front arm up as high as it will go before lowering the sled onto the suspension. This is really so ridiculously simple that if you are having trouble, you are doing something different than I am. I also remove the weight transfer rod and prop the rear arm so it is past full transfer. Then, I lower the back of the sled until the arc that the rear mount points make when the arm is swung cross the holes. Swing it to this position and you are good to go. If it is giving you guys trouble, just slow down and think it through a bit. It is the easiest skid to put I have seen in a long time.
No need to remove the limiter strap.

Thank you all for your help! I used a little bit of all of your advice and got the skid bolted back in in no time. I really appreciate it!

Put my buddies in by putting the front bolts in first and a ratchet strap on the suspension from the upper bolt cross member to the lower. You can tell by how the ssupension works how to hook it. I just kept ratcheting until it lined up and put the rear bolts in. Not sure if thats how you are supposed to do it etc but its worked for all my sleds
