I bent my transfer rod up pretty bad and a new assembly with all the parts needed to make one complete assembly add up to about $250. Has anyone tried using a limiter strap in place of it? I can't find an after market transfer rod for a 2006 Apex RTX. Hate to pay $250 and bend another one. Looks like maybe it unscrewed and fell down bending the rod and gouging my track down to the cords every 2 inches.
Thanks,
Ralph

Look under the classifides and make a post, i have seen them for sale a coupel times with guys parting out their machine. I have also heard of guys running without them at all, just some major transfer and catwalks.
I did the same thing to My 05 RX-1 this year. I think my transfer rod unscrewed too. Now I need a new one. I cant believe some one dont make a after markit one. I didn't know it would cost me $250...

Try Bender Racing. They make a Mono kit, so maybe they can sell you just the Transfer rod? Just a thought.

Thanks, but I asked Allen already. It was a good thought anyway.

I'm not sure if your thinking of Ulmer Racing and talked to Allen Ulmer instead of calling Bender Racing. 1CrazySledder was talking about Bender. 716) 941-5840 http://www.benderracing.com/

Yes, My mistake, should of had my bifocals on, I guess I didn't see Bender in the post. Wasn't Bender bought out by DynoPort? I've been to the Bender Racing web site but it's still under construction the last time I looked.

Re: Trasfer Rod
Bender was in fact bought out. They still have the same goodies tho.
It may be worth a shot.
On my 06 RTX, I did the same thing. My total costs in repairs in about $1300. My sled was still under warranty tho. I had the skid fixed, sold it and baught a Expert X. Now, on my 07 Attak, I didn't have any problems with my Mono, but I still ripped it out of the chassis and installed my Expert X. I'm not taking any chances.

rod
I did the same thing. I was able to get the rod out, and replace just the rod. I got the needle bearing also. The threads were screwed up, but I was able to screw the 2 parts of the rod housing together. It will never unscrew again. I think total parts were $90.
