I would like to revalve the shock for better ride. Anyone out there have specs on a good revlalve?

i have the aluminum bodied shock, still waiting for parts for my m10 and this thing is going to kill me the way it is.

I sent mine to Pioneer Performance in Chaffee NY. Tell them your weight & riding style and they will re-valve and re-spring. Made a HUGE difference.

$69.95 plus shipping for the re-valve. I don't recall the price of the 6.5 KG spring. That came from the dealer. The part number is in my profile.

I sent mine to Shock Therapy in Durand Mi. and was only charged $40. The sled rides totally different now.

had pioneer do mine, big difference but not really impressed. to stiff on lowest setting, still bottoms on highest setting and did get bigger spring, talked to carver and he sed i should not need a stiifer spring if valved properly, going to him this summer

I sent out a pm,let me know if you get it.
Hi i am picking up my new 07 apex gt,this coming monday,my last apex was the 07 rtx, differant skid, shocks sucked on that sled,my last mono apex was my 06 shortie apex, with standard mono out back and fox floats up front, but i ride very agressive and had pioneer do a revalve on my 06 apex, and add a larger coil spring,i gave him my attak spring, which had more rate than my standard spring he was to replace, but he added some king kong spring, and the ride went to hell,so i will never use him again. Point i am getting at is this, your sled is the gt,that is what i am about to get,i have never owned one,but have ridden my buds 06 gt w/olins adjust on the fly and standard yellow coil spring,it seems kinda soft for a heavy weight like myself,i weigh 250 semi wet, loaded with extra gear around 265lbs should i start by just adjusting the preload up as tight as i can on the shock for ride height first and than set the compression and rebound to my liking on the fly second? Or should i opt for one of yamahas springs they have listed. There springs listed are 5.5,6.1,6.6,and 7.1 do you know which one comes stock on the apex gt shortie? Thanks Pete

Pete, what did you do with the XP?

Betheviper, I sent mine to Carver for 83 bucks. Ohlins recomended them. They also said that when the GT was getting it's final shock specs, Ohlins recommended their setup and Yamaha went and changed it at the 11th hour. The re-valve in the 08 is better, but not much. The valving Carver has is awesome in my GT. I can finally ride it hard. Carver also says that unless you are 230lbs, plus, then you do not need a new spring, just a re-valve.

Hi freak,do you think i need the bigger spring,i think it comes w/5.5 i weigh 243# raw, dressed close to 260# can i run the stock setup for the remainder of the year, and send to carver and have the revalve and if he thinks a new spring, than ok,but i had pioneer do my 06 apex and it sucked way worse after they did the revalve and kong spring,i traded in the xp for the year older apexgt,i was tired of messing with everything i could except modding the motor to get it to go on top, plus in my book its to light, the handling even with 2000 bucks worth of zbroz clickers was only subpar, great if you wanted to scale tall buildings and only stand thru 3-4 footers, but sitdown performance sucked. link to carver

Hey sledfreak can you send a link to carvers website. thanks Pete

I have higher rate (6.5) spring, but you have to revalve especially on the rebound side. I rather have a stiffer spring with less preload to get proper ride height. The higher rate spring will help reduce the bottoming ,which this skid suffers from, and on rebound, the suspension is less likely to top out which causes the bucking which the skid is known for. The shorty come with a 4.9 , the attack comes with a 6.1 stock. I would go with a 7.1 with your weight.
