I have spent the last hour searching this site for the perfect recipe on suspension setup. I have a 2005 Rage that I tweaked perfectly and now trying to get my 06 rage from bottoming out. Not really doing well, this mono suspension isn't that easy to setup.
I am 220lbs. with gear and ride fairly aggressivly, currently three out of four moguls the sleds bottoms out hard. I have changed the spring coupler on the hardest settings (7 I believe) and have also adjusted the dapening to the hardest. One Change I made which I am not sure of is the weight transfer rod (single rod middle of skid) I set to max (more threads showing), I have read several posts where some guys say to go to min for bottoming out and others say max, can anyone define? I have checked the manual and read ohlins suspension setup and a lot of trial and error and just can't get it dialed in? Any help would be great. I find it hard to believe I need a stiffer spring? Also I noticed a lot of posts on the attack and removing the shock for harder setup? I ride with an attack and he complains about the same thing, suspension to soft. We have both tired different settings and none successful.

I have the same problem with my 06 Rage. See thread below Good and Bad 06 Rage. I am about the weight as you. I can get mine not bottom out but it is as hard as riding my 72 Johnson.

you mentioned in the last post that you have the spring set on 5 and now it rides like a lumber wagon, I have mine on 7 and still bottoms out every other bump. did you change the weight transfer setting or leave that at factory setting? I don't mind bottoming out a couple of times during a ride but i am approaching several hunder times in a 100 plus mile ride.

You need to buy the fat boy spring. I did and it was great. I rarely ever bottom out and it still rides smooth.

The other thing you can do is pull the shock, compress the spring and move the clip that is under the adjuster ring up a groove.

I highly recommend spending the $$ for the heavier spring, it is worth it.
