Will the mono skid with the electric Ohlins shock bolt into my 07 Apex RTX ? I have read some where that my sled is pre-wired for the electric shock and my ECU will recognize it when attached. Anyone know where I can purchase a used mono skid w/ the Ohlins shock?? I've tried revalving the shocks in my RTX rear skid last season (Pioneer revalve) and it still doesn't come close to the ride quality of the mono skid.

I've read where a couple have done what you're talking about and found the wiring. The skid will not be a straight bolt in. You'll need to drill the front holes. In back, the rear plate is different, but the Mono brkt. may bolt up using the original Proactive holes?
Also, one of the guys that did a Cat skid conversion pulled a custom valved Mono out. Not sure if it was Ohlin or not, not sure if it's still available, though I know it was recently. If he doesn't get with you, holler and I'll check on it for you. -Al

I believe one of the moderators on here had a complete 121 mono with ohlins ec shock for sale in "better than new" condition!

I have a friend that did this to his 07 RTX over the summer, the wiring is easy to get to and plugs right in. The skid he said was a pain to install, you need to drill new holes and install the correct brackets, and then you are left with the old holes in your tunnel! He goes by turbineman on the forum if you need to get ahold of him with any questions.

I'm the one that has the mono for sale. I do believe its a bolt in, the main difference is the shock on the RTX has the dial to adjust the shock? Correct me if I'm wrong someone.
My skid is fully powdercoated with all new bushings, graphite hyfax, and "0" miles on a Pioneer re-valved shock with the 6.5 spring. I had it fully customized and installed, ready to go for last season, and at last minute decided to stretch to a 144 with a powdercoated XTX skid.

if i were you and the ck even after being revalved wasnt working i wound NOT put a mono in. they are not bump skids. i put a cat skid in mine. ahicks has a pro x in his. then there is the sc4 doo swap. i would really look into one of those skids over the mono. you dont wanty to go through all that work and drill holes/ replace brackets and be just as disappointed as with the ck. the mono does not hold up. trust me.. that is why i ditched mine.
i have all the measurements for a cat install. ahicks has all the info for the edge/pro x swap. you will be much happier with the results going this route. and it will be alot cheaper. feel free to ask questions!!!!

by the way just checked out the pics of your sled. that is lookin real sweet. was that the lighting or is there air brushing on your hood? youll have to keep us posted on how that xtx skid works out.

Its just the lighting in the shop, the sled is solid black. Everything behind the plastics is powdercoated, all the bulkheads, and the entire suspension was done by welterracer.
The skid saw duty all last season in the Apex, and it is awesome. Even though its in a heavier chassis, adding the spacers in the springs and re-valving the shock, its definately a sled I wish Yamaha would build.

I had to fab the drop brackets, but I also had my XTX right next to it for measurements. I just made a template of the XTX's mounting points in relation to the driveshaft and the tunnel protectors and transferred that over to the Apex. I still have the plexiglass template. I could trace it to a piece of paper and mail it to you?

theres not alot of fab work. just alot of reading a tape measure and checking your measurments 10x before you drill holes lol. as long as you have or can obtain the donor sleds numbers its not all that hard. the hardest part is drilling the holes through the tunnel

I have an EC mono complete skid with custom (trail pro) Hygear valved electronic Ohlins with twisted dual rate springs with mid collar. Set up is SUPREME and the best mono set up available (IMO). I have over $500 in the shock recalibration alone. The rest of the suspension has ZERO cracks on rails or W arms. Everthing is in very good condition. Has updated wheels, and all have been replaced.
