I had the same concern with my Attak, the noisy clunking sound on small trail chatter ruts. After a few experiments of using different materials as a substitute I found two springs used in place of the shim spacers worked great!

You don't get anymore transfer but you eliminate that banging noise when going over chatter bumps. The springs are for the seat headrest on your vehicle. I picked them up from WalMart.
