This is a Jardine pipe off of a Honda 600 RR. It came with a stainless steel mid pipe that had just about the perfect bent to it. So I made 2 brackets and installed it using the hardware that came with the pipe. The pipe and mid pipe weighed in @ 1.5 lbs and I think the stock one was around 17 lbs. I have not heard it run yet, I will let you know how it sound when I do.

Zook,
I was wondering of you had a picture of the connection you made to the stock pipe? Were you able to use the stock mid-pipe from a 600rr or did you use something else? I'm still trying to figure my 'custom' exhaust out......

RoicIND-- The pipe came with a stainless steel mid pipe that I used. Shoot me your E-Mail and I'll send you some pics. They are alittle dark but you can see how I did it. I even used the stock bung that was on the pipe to bolt it to the frame.

mounting on the mid pipe

This is how I mounted the mid pipe to the threaded bung on the pipe. Made an L shaped bracked and used a stainless bolt.

Hey Zook... start that thing up and lets hear it run! ;)!

I want to get an exhaust for mine but not sure what I want to do yet.

But I actually do have a question. Would it have still worked if you cut the existing pipe up farther to get the muffler under the seat more?

Thanks,
Trevor

cdsgraphic-- No not really The way that the mid pipe is I wanted to use the threaded bung to mount it to the frame. I guess that I could have cut the pipe alittle bit more. It is a traial and error thing. There are 2 springs that hold the can to the pipe also. On the mid pipe there is those small hooks that are welded on and the spring hooks to it and then to the can. The can really doesn't stick out much farther than the origanal one. I marked where the stock one was on my tunnel and got it to be as close as I could. I think the only part that sticks out is the turn down tip. I will probablly run it over the weekend.
I am going to a sled show tonight, I'll see what they have for the Phazer.

Bruce

Zook so you're going to the show in Salem. Might be interesting to see what they have their for the Phazer but every year it seems to be dominated by SkiDoo's. I think the only ones that use to show Yamaha was A1 Motorsports but now that they are closed I don't know who else would. Would have like to go but we are headed north. Have a good time and hope there is some stuff there for the Phazer.

On another note where do you ride. I am wondering how much grief you will get with just the look of that pipe from Fish & Game. We ride in Pittsburg and they pretty much just sit in the parking lot at the Mobil station and right out tickets. That has been the biggest reason for not doing an exhaust yet. Just for swapping out the can they will right a ticket.

More and more states are getting "noise laws" which translates to, it doesn't matter if not loud, if it isn't stock you get a ticket... thats why I think I'm just going to get the hartman muffler. A little better sound but looks totally stock.

Patm-- I'm not sure if I am going to the show in salem or not. I might not be able to make it.

I do ride in Pittsburg. I had an RX1 last year and I had the White knuckel pipe on it . I passed manny brown coats and never had a problem, and that was way louder than stock. I really don't think I will have any problems, I don't think it will be to much louder than stock. Not as loud as some of the piped 2 strokes. We will hopefully find out around the 15th of next mounth when the trails open, provided there is snow.
Bruce--

Good Zook keep us posted. Hopefully you won't have any problems but I guess time will tell. If you are in Pittsburg and in the Mt. View Campground area stop by site #2. A 30' Fleetwood Gearbox. That is us and usually sitting by a fire and drinking at night time. Stop by and say hello.

Hopefully the trails open up on the 15th. The weather really needs to start getting nasty within the next couple of weeks for that to even happen. We rode around the campground last year breaking the sleds in on New Years Eve and then my daughter was riding her Raptor 50 with us. Hopefully we won't be doing that this year and will actually be out riding on the trail system with unbelievable snow coverage.

I started up the sled today. Well the exhaust is kinda loud. This was running in my shop so it had some echo effect to it. I think it will be ok out on the trail, I won't know untill the snow flies. :jump:
