So I did some ice drags yesterday and I went into the 600 and 700 stock improved class... Improved just cause I had chisels.... All I have in mine is a clutch kit which seems tuned alright and plugs with stock open exhaust. Anyways let's just say I didn't stand a chance! I raced the same sled in both classes( single elimination). I would get outta the hole real good but then he would pull me by 2 sled lengths and that how it would stay... So I think I'm gonna take my chisels out and put regular studs instead so I can race stock vs stock! Anyways is there anything I can do to get more power without spending too much? I was crossing the line in 660ft at about 85 mph...

I've done a few things to mine and race usually every weekend. Tracks up here usually only run 500 ft though. Last week i was doing ok. Got 2 second place finishes. I changed a few things and this week i took 1st in 700 imp and 800imp and 2nd in 1000 stock. I'd say maybe try the excell header. No one will know you have it and the gains are pretty good. I've got k&ns, excell header, barker exhaust, pc3, drag n flys clutching. All depends on how much you want to spend i guess....

Well one day for sure I'd like to boost but for now I wanna keep it simple... Got more important stuff to pay for! I like your thinking tho! Haha! But no one cheats in racing? No... Yeah right! Lol I'm pretty good with mechanics so I was wondering if the porting would be a good idea?

Poleclimber, Are suggesting that he cheat by using header? We know nobody cheats in racing. :moon:

Everyone cheats! And the ones that say they don't lie. All the things I've done you can see pretty easy except for the header. So its hard for me to cheat. That barker is so loud everyone knows.

I would probably have a better chance racing in snow rather than pure ice... I also notice on my sled that there isn't a big difference in running the flipper to the bars or leaving about an eight or so of play... Maybe one or two mile an hour... I was running yesterday in about 5 inches or snow full throttle and she was getting 85 or so but when I was running at 3/4 it was going 87 and then I pinned it and got 92... What would do this? I got my gps checked last year and they said it wad within specs... Any ideas?
