the guy in the picture lifting the srx is Gordy Mutzies not sure on spelling he was in charge of yamaha snowmobile racing when i was talking to him about the special srx's made he thinks that they are in japan in yamaha warehouse where they keep special units but he was not sure.

Any Tim Bender race sleds around? Like the "three ski" for ice ovals? That was a trully unique piece of engineering! Saw it just once at Eagle River. Wow, a long time ago.

Oops, for got the Outlaw.

I own this Outlaw now. I would certainly like to learn the history of how your brother got the Outlaw.

Thanks,

Jon Bertolino
Real quick here before work. My brother gave it to me,(graduation gift) a put the stock motor and carbs in it, (maybe just cylinders) then i sold it to a guy around 1995. Last i saw it was at CruiserFest in Minoqua in 2007-08? (parked)
My brother bought it from a guy in Mn around 1990-ish, which may have been the original owner? The one pictured on one of Benders catalogs is the one you own.
My brother crashed it pretty hard and lost the EGT gauges and messed up the rest of the fairing, which is why it's spray bombed the the way it is in the picture. The right side panel has some cobble holes in it from mounting another anti-freeze overflow tank for slide lubers, that was my handy work. I think he paid around 5grand for it and i sold it for about half that. We were just kids, didn't know any better, i could cry the way we cobbed that thing together. Any recent pictures?
He rode it to the Derby Track in Eagle River one winter, and later talking to Tim Bender about it, he said on a run through town he spotted it and knew it was 'his', Pretty cool.
Mike.

for any of you guys located in the central minneapolis area that really want to see history stop buy Jerry Haucks shop all of his race sleds are on a shelf lined up with all the bling (trophys) sitting there with them.

Jerry got a pretty cool shop there. I have picked up some parts for my sled there

Bender Race sled

Bob Weaver Motorsports in Wheatfield, NY owns a 3-ski oval racer that Tim Bender raced in the 90's. Awesome looking sled. I actually worked on the Terminators (short while) pulling motors and suspensions from stock exciters.

There was an article featuring that photo in the Sled Talk Blog a few months ago.
