mountain riser on apex gt

I just thought I would let everybody know I just replaced my factory riser on my 06 apex gt with a 7inch factory mountain riser and all my cables work great.

I put the rox ajustable 5-7 riser with quick levers love it had to upgrade to mountain cable though

how tall is the stock riser?

the stock 06 apex gt riser is about 4" i believe

i put the 6" powermadd riser with the pivot adapter for a total of 7 1/2"

I was surprised I was able to run the stock throttle cable with the mountain riser without any problems, I even bought the cable but there was no need to put it on.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in addition to the mountian riser being higher aren't the mountain bars higher than stock as well. I have the mountain riser on my 08 and I find it great. Never changed the cables.

I do believe your right the mountian bars are taller then the stock ones, that might explain why I'm able to use my stock cables without any problems.
