I want to upgrade my skis on my 07 GT. But I'm on a budget. The mountain skis are $67 each online and use the same mounts and loops and I believe carbides, too. My main complaint with my stock skis is they are pizza cutters in deep snow. I've actually been pulled off the trail when my right ski dipped off the trail. I never had this problem with old crusty metal ski sleds in the past. Should I just buck up and get some good skis here or what? Thanks.

Some guys seem to like the MTX skis. Me I hate them, I should say that they are better than the stock slicers, but they still break through too easy for me. I think it's the step design of the side profile that causes this. I've got Curve's on my Nytro and they seem to provide better float on the Nytro than the MTX's do on the Phazer. If you want a less expensive ski with great floatation and adjustability I would say the USI Triple's would be a good choice. Also I would look at the classifieds here as someone is always selling skis of some kind. Save your money and put it toward a better ski. Make sure your front end is tight (ball joints and such) or the ski change won't matter, you'll be darting everywhere.
