Hey all!!! I have been doing alot of reading on this forum and am pleased at the knowledge being shared!!! Some of you really know how tho mod a sled!!

OK so... I bought a 2005 Mountain Vector about month and half ago! I took it to Laramie, WY about a month ago and was satisfied with how it performed, handled, etc... As with most men, I am always looking for more!! ;)! Right now she is sitting in my garage, totally stock. Most of my riding will be in 7,000 - 10,000 ft.

What i'm looking for - examples on do-it-yourself mods for weight shavings and performance boosts.

I do not have the money for turbo, supercharger, nos, or major suspension mods, so just smaller ideas for now!!!

Thank you,
Alex

OH!!! and - :yam: & :4STroke:

I geared my 05 MTN Vector to 19/40, wound the secondary 10 degrees tighter, Removed the sway bar and went to a fully clipped Camoplast with extrovert drivers.

I just run the daylights out of it and it always gets me home.

I know you said you don't have a ton of money but.......

I have a brand new Boss Noss setup for a Vector that I just bought and then my sled got stolen. I can make you a pretty good deal on it if you are interested. Shoot me a PM if if are interested, I'm leaving town for a 10 day riding trip this morning as soon as everybody gets ther a$$es out of bed so I won't likely get back to you right away.

As for the Vector follow Kachess's $6500.00 mountain animal thread as most of the mods apply to the Vector as well. Don't mess with the Vector airbox though. Do the exhaust, battery, rider forward, hood/headlight then look for a skid, then get some other lightweight stuff like a front end (I have a light weight front end for sale as well).

Try and find a 151/16 2 1/8" track from like a 06 Rev for it if you want to build a boondocker. Vector doesn't really have the power stock to climb too much. I had the Excell high flow header with a glass pack under the tunnel which worked well and dropped like 18 lbs.
