Just wondering if anyone has installed a MPI rear skid on a RX1. I'm looking at potentially upgarding my stock 05 RX1 Mtn and looking at this unit. Looking for pros and cons vs other aftermarket skids. Additionally, what about their front suspension upgrades? Any thoughts?

apex mountain crracing 174
apex blower 136 for asphalt racing
osp drag race sled (apex engine based)
From what I hear this skid has trouble keeping the skid on ground on boosted sleds.
CR racing have the very best mountain suspension and that is what is gonna be on my turbo apex mtn this winter.
One that is working good too is the adboivin ZX2 mtn skid... not a cr racing, but still work good.

not really looking for a skid for a boosted sled, just a stock engine. Mainly trying to drop some weight while trying to improve the ride and handling.

MPI's front A-arms are pretty tough. Mine lasted through two rock encounters (both put me over the bars) and two tree encounters (broke one tree but stopped sheared the 2nd one off). All rock or tree encounters were seperate incidents. The third tree encounter was the straw that broke the camels back.

Now Jim, you do understand that the throttle and brake are kept in 'easy reach' by a set of functioning handlebars? They will actually steer the sled AROUND some of them little obstacles.....right?
OK, so I'll admit that my MPI front end has taken some pretty big hits and still functions fine. Shed a ton of weight off the nose as well.

I have the complete front/rear MPI suspension on my TRX-1 Mtn. It seems like a nice suspension(159"). I had to put the rail stiffeners on the billet rails because they were starting to bend a little.
I had one of the early complete rear suspensions from them and the front H-arm fell apart. They saw that there was a problem with their design so they changed it, but offered me NO warranty. Since I had the rest of their suspension, I had to buy the replacement. That lack of customer support caused me to stop buying their products. They also screwed me on their POS stainless ice scratchers.
If I were you, try another company's suspension. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from them. Once they have your money, they really don't give a crap about you. My sled is basically all MPI-front/rear suspension, tunnel, turbo, etc..
